Last Night's Scores:

St. Louis Blues 4 @ Dallas Stars 1

Blues lead series 3-2

Brian Elliott made 12 third period saves to preserve the Blues' two goal lead before they sealed the deal with an empty netter.

Pittsburgh Penguins 1 @ Washington Capitals 3

Penguins lead series 3-2

The Capitals staved off elimination on home ice with 30 saves from Braden Holtby while Alex Ovechkin picked up a goal and an assist.

Nashville Predators 1 @ San Jose Sharks 5

Sharks lead series 3-2

Patrick Marleau, Joe Pavelski, and Joe Thornton each had 2 points as the Sharks pushed the pesky Predators to the brink of elimination.

Tonight's Game:

New York Islanders @ Tampa Bay Lightning

Lightning lead series 3-1

After two overtime wins by Tampa Bay in Brooklyn, they have their first opportunity to close out the Islanders on Sunday.

Nightly Notes:

  • Each series now has a team on the brink of elimination
  • The Stars are down 3 games to 2 and we need a comeback to get that 1st round pick
  • The home team has won all games in the Sharks-Preds series
  • The Sharks have three of the top five playoff scorers right now (Couture, Burns, Pavelski)

1st Star of the Night:

Brian Elliott and his strong play especially in the third period finally helps the Blues keep a two goal lead in the playoffs. The Blues are headed home up 3-2 because of his strong play late in the game.

That's it for tonight, remember to vote in our poll below, and have a splendid rest of the weekend!
