Derek Grant will not be in the lineup tomorrow night.

Pat Steinberg just announced on twitter that the Flames will be without Derek Grant in the final game of the season. Grant is suffering from a groin injury that will keep him out of the lineup.

As well, there’s a possibility that Calgary could be missing Jakub Nakladal and Deryk Engelland. There was no reason given, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens. We’ll keep you updated as things are announced.

With Grant being out of the lineup tomorrow, the Flames will need someone to fill in the space up front. Who do you think will be the emergency call-up?

It could open the door for another center to have a chance at the NHL level, but I think it’s a little too early to see Mark Jankowski on the Flames. My guess would be that Turner Elson could get his chance. But we’ll have to wait and see…

UPDATE:

It was announced on the Calgary Flames website that Turner Elson, Oliver Kylington and Pat Sieloff have been recalled from Stockton. I think this is a good indication that Nakladal and Engelland will probably be absent during the Flames last game of the season. As always, we will update the projected lines tomorrow.
