It’s a strange playoff season. Before the final round 1 games are over, round 2 will begin. Tonight the NY Islanders will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning to kick off round 2 before the Nashville Predators take on the Anaheim Ducks to finalize round 1.

So far round 2 match ups are as follows;

EAST
NY Islanders will take on Tampa Bay Lightning
Washington Capitals will take on Pittsburgh Penguins

WEST
Dallas Stars will take on St. Louis Blues
San Jose Sharks will take on the winner between tonights Ducks/Predators matchup

Notes:

Jamie Benn leads the post season with 10 points.

John Tavares is the goal leader with 5.

Braden Holtby leads goalies with 2 shutouts.

Goalies Brian Elliott, Thomas Greiss, Braden Holtby, Ben Bishop, Martin Jones are all tied with 4 wins each.

Kris Russell and the Dallas Stars are still in contention after eliminating the Minnesota Wild.

Jiri Hudler and the Florida Panthers were eliminated.

Former Flames defenseman, Jay Bouwmeester, and the St. Louis Blues are still going strong after eliminating the Chicago Blackhawks. They will now face Kris Russell and the Dallas Stars.

It could be anyone’s game tonight in the final round 1 matchup to finalize the round 2 schedule. With the departure of the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, and the NY Rangers, my bracket is almost completely broken already. How is everyone else’s bracket doing??
