(Stats from the Flames website)

In his last 5 games Sam Bennett has 2 goals and no assists for a total of 2 points and is averaging about 2 shots on goal per game. Both goals came against the Arizona Coyotes on March 28th, a game the Flames won by a score of 5-2.

According to the Flames website, Bennett has appeared in 73 games this season and has 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points which is good enough to put him in 8th place in team scoring.

In his rookie season last year Bennett was recovering from shoulder surgery and played in 11 games with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League. In those 11 games Sam scored 11 goals and got 13 assists for 24 points. Impressive enough for him to get the call up for the final game of the Calgary Flames regular season.

Bennett got 1 assist in that lone regular season game and in the Stanley Cup Playoffs scored 3 goals and 1 assist for 4 points in 11 games.

In a recent Calgary Sun article by Kristen Odland (dated March 20, 2016), Bennett says this season there is "definitely some ups and downs." He waited 9 games before potting his first goal and also endured an 18 game goalless drought from November to January. That drought ended with Bennet scoring 8 goals in the next 11 games and a move back to the Centre position.
