Tyler Wotherspoon Reassigned to Stockton Heat

It's been a good run for the blue-liner, but with the return of Engelland, we knew this would happen.

The Flames announced today that Tyler Wotherspoon has been reassigned to the Stockton Heat.

In anticipation of the return of Deryk Engelland, after being at home with his wife who gave birth to their second child, Wotherspoon’s blue line services will no longer be needed as it was suggested Engelland could return tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks.

In 11 games with the Flames, Wotherspoon accumulated 1 assist and was most often paired with Jakub Nakladal on the defensive end of the Calgary team. In Stockton, 6’2″ Wotherspoon garnered 6 assists in 45 games so far this season.

Considering all the injuries lately and the line changes, I don't think this will be the last time we see Wotherspoon in the Flames lineup.

You can find all the information on the Flames website.
