Sean Monahan has been named third star of the week by the NHL.

With 26 goals and 29 assists in 71 games, Monahan has proved that he’s more than just a quiet offensive force. He’s quickly becoming a defensive threat as well as a natural leader on the Calgary Flames. In his last 5 games, he’s got over a point a game, including 5 goals and 2 assists, while averaging 18.46 time on ice each game. In spite of being bumped around from line to line (as is the norm this season for the Calgary team), his underrated presence and stealthy positions in front of the oppositions net are what make Monahan a quiet competitor. He’s proven over the course of 3 seasons in Calgary that he will be an asset to the Flames future.

Alongside Jonathan Quick, goalie of the LA Kings, and Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Monahan is included in a list of well-deserving players.

Congrats Mony!
