Dion Phaneuf dealt to Ottawa in 9 player deal

Former Flame and now former Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf has been traded to the Ottawa Senators in a 9 player deal this afternoon.

The deal sends Dion Phaneuf, forward Matt Frattin, forward Casey Bailey, forward Ryan Rupert and defenceman Cody Donaghey to the Ottawa. In Return the Leafs will receive defenceman Jared Cowen, fowards Milan Michalek, Colin Greening, Tobias Lindberg and Ottawa's 2nd round pick in 2017.

In 51 games this season for the Toronto Maple Leafs Dion Phaneuf has 3 goals, 21 assists, is a -4 and has 67 penalty minutes.

The Flames play the Maple Leafs tonight at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Puck drop is at 9 PM ET.
