Wanna start off the article by congratulating Mark Giordano for registering his 200th career assist on Dougie Hamiltons first period goal!

It had been an entire week since home games for the Calgary Flames going into tonight, playing a team who beat them 5-2 on their previous road trip.

Teams traded goals 18 seconds apart in the first period, but the second period was all Calgary. Goals by Giordano, Johnny had Calgary up 3-1 after two.

The third was more of the same as Calgary seemed to have all the energy. Carolina couldn't really generate much in the way as offence. Monahan capped off the game with his 4th point of the night. Really solid effort all around by the Flames in the first game back from the All Star break.

Flame of the game is Sean Monahan, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. 1 goal and 3 assists had him the first star of the game. Honourable mentions to Johnny Gaudreau, Mark Giordano, Jiri Hudler and Dougie Hamilton who all had 2 point nights.
