Rate the Flames vs Islanders

A pretty solid effort by Calgary falls short with a late OT loss to NYI.

Calgary Flames returned home after a short California road trip to face the Islanders.

Joni Ortio played as well as he did in Los Angeles and kept the Flames in this game, same could be said for Jaroslav Halak. There were plenty scoring chances but this was definitely a goaltending battle. The Flames held onto a 1-0 lead up up until the midway point of the third when the Islanders tied it up.

The back and forth action continues up until we thought this game was going to a shootout but with 17 seconds left Josh Bailey ended this game and sent the Islanders home with the second point.

My Flame of the game goes to Lance Bouma. After Matt Stajan took a questionable hit from Casey Cizikas, Lance stepped in and fought Cizikas. It's always nice to see teammates step up for each other.
