Calgary wrapped up their brief 2 game trip to California with a 2-1 set back in Los Angeles.
If it wasn't for Joni Ortio who knows how lop sided the score could've been. He was lights out tonight making all the difficult look really easy. He stopped every shot he saw, 35 in total, but a screen shot and a lucky bounce were the only 2 that made their way to the back of the net.
The team itself didn't play all the bad but they looked sluggish for the first 40 minutes. Calgary was outshot 13-3 and 17-9 respectively in the first two periods but played a lot better in the final frame only to fall short.
Obviously my Flame of the game is Joni Ortio. Have to give honourable mention to the Backlund/Frolik/Colborne line because they were the only line I really noticed throughout the entire game.
Calgary return home for a date with the Islanders on Thursday.
