Vancouver Canucks at Calgary Flames [Game 36]

Wotherspoon?!

The Calgary Flames are back after getting dismantled by the San Jose Sharks by a score of four to one. They played well in the firsy, but the schedule loss reared its ugly head and things fell apart in the late frames. After three days of rest, they’ll make some lineup changes as they take on the Vancouver Canucks.

Finally absent from the Flames lineup will be Jyrki Jokipakka. Jokipakka has been one of the Flames worst players this year ranking near the bottom in nearly every possession metric out of the defensemen. Tyler Wotherspoon takes his spot and while he hasn’t been much better for his career, he has hardly had the chance to prove himself. He wasn’t all that bad last year.

Brian Elliott takes Chad Johnson’s place in net and Garnet Hathaway is in for Lance Bouma. The lineups largely remain untouched other than the straight substitutions. It’s hardly a lineup without flaws, but a lineup without Jokipakka is huge and hopefully it continues.
