Calgary Flames at Buffalo Sabres (Game 21)

Published

on

The Calgary Flames are only one controversial goal away from having points in their last four games. As it stands, they’ll look to go four out of five tonight against the Buffalo Sabres. The forwards and defence are the same.

The one minor change is in net; Brian Elliott gets the start as Chad Johnson has had his lion share of the workload as of late. Evidence points to this being the smart thing as goalies on back to backs normally due pretty poorly. That being said, Elliott has been pretty bad this season and clearly the staff is losing faith in him.

The Sabres are favoured tonight by most models by virtue of being the rested team to the Flames who played last night and are two time zones away from Calgary. The Flames have done considerably better than league average in back-to-backs, so time will tell. Hopefully they continue the positive momentum.

UPDATE: Jyrki Jokipakka is in for Brett Kulak. This could be an injury or it could be a coach’s decision – either way, it isn’t good.
