The Adirondack Thunder have not had a great week since we last checked in. The Thunder dropped 3 games, losing Friday to the Idaho Steelheads by a score of 4-3 in a shootout, then Saturday they lost again to the Steelheads 4-2 and finally lost on Sunday to the Utah Grizzlies by a 5-2 score.
The only bright spots over the last week were the Thunder picking up a point against the Steelheads on Friday and team leading scorer Ty Loney scoring 2 goals and 1 assist. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like the Thunder played bad. They averaged around 30 shots in the three games and were getting chances.
Calgary Flames goaltending prospect Mason McDonald was between the pipes for two of the losses. On Friday McDonald turned in a stellar performance stopping 41 of 44 shots, but lost in a shootout. Then on Sunday McDonald stopped 18 of 22 shots in the loss to the Grizzlies.
The Thunder’s next game is Friday night when they once again take on the Utah Grizzlies at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.
