Published

on

Johnny Gaudreau’s hands took a licking in yesterday’s game against the Minnesota Wild. He left in the third period after a slash and would not return to the game. John Shannon announced that Gaudreau will be out for a period of time as his finger is in fact broken.

No timetable has been set for Gaudreau's return to the lineup, but the rumours say four to six weeks before he can return. Given that the Flames are currently sitting pretty poorly in the standings, that probably means that fans are in for some ugly hockey. This could be a fatal blow for Calgary's season given that the team is experiencing.

There’s no word as to who will replace Gaudreau in the lineup. Kris Versteeg and Lance Bouma are close to returning, so they may slot in. Regardless of who steps in, the team’s offense just took a huge hit.
