The Flames added yet another body from the Stockton Heat today, calling up Garnet Hathaway. Hathaway has 3 goals and 3 assists in 8 games for the Heat so far this season. Hathaway was one of the last cuts this season near the end of training camp.
Hathaway provides the Flames with an energizing presence in place of Micheal Ferland and Matthew Tkachuk who are likely out with injury tonight, necessitating this call up.
He has 14 games of NHL experience all coming last season where he picked up 3 assists and 31 PIM.
He was originally called up last year to cover a lineup spot after the trade deadline for players the Flames traded away, however his hard work earned him a spot with the team for nearly a month.
It’s expected that Hathaway will be in the lineup tonight but we’ll know for sure when the projected lines are out later in the day. Puck drop against the Rangers is at 8:00 MT.
