Vey has had a good start to the season in the AHL

The Flames announced earlier today that they were recalling Linden Vey from the Stockton Heat of the AHL. Vey has had a solid start to the season for Stockton with 3 goals and 6 assists in 8 games.

It is unlikely that Vey will be in the lineup for tonight’s game against Dallas which hopefully indicates that Matthew Tkachuk’s injury wasn’t serious enough for him to miss game time.

Vey is the 13th forward on the Flames right now, although it wouldn’t surprise me if he sees playing time in place of Freddie Hamilton who hasn’t done much this season. Vey was cut from Flames camp on October 11th, just days before the season started.

Vey has 44 points in 134 career NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks. If he plays during this callup, he’ll officially make his Flames debut.
