Flames Make Some Big Name Cuts

9 more players were cut from camp today, with 7 headed to Stockton

The axe continued to fall at Flames camp as nine more players were cut today. Included among the names were some relatively big names compared to other cuts in Mark Jankowski, Jon Gillies, and Emile Poirier.

The Flames sent 7 players to Stockton while releasing 2.

The players cut were as follows:

Stockton:

  1. D Ryan Culkin
  2. RW Matt Frattin
  3. G Jon Gillies
  4. C Mark Jankowski
  5. LW Morgan Klimchuk
  6. D Oliver Kylington
  7. RW Emile Poirier

Released:

  1. D Mikhail Grigorev
  2. D Colby Robak

The Flames camp now has 32 players with 3 goalies, 11 defencemen, and 18 forwards. The preseason continues on Wednesday against Arizona.
