Calgary Flames at St. Louis Blues [Game 8]

Will we get a win streak?

Fresh off of last night’s victory against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Flames head to the Scottrade Center to take on the St. Louis Blues. The Blues dropped six goals on the Flames during their last game en route to a six to four victory on Saturday. The Flames will search for both vengeance and their first two game win streak of the season tonight.

Last game saw Chad Johnson put up a lackluster performance. The team will turn to Brian Elliott after last night’s fantastic performance in Chicago. Generally speaking playing goalies on back to back nights is never a good idea, but Greg Gulutzan feels that it’s important to establish a number one netminder.

There was some excitement when the team announced that Matt Tkachuk is returning to the lineup in place of Freddie Hamilton. Much of that excitement was exterminated when they showed the defense. Brett Kulak once again gets the scratch along with Jyrki Jokipakka as Dennis Wideman and Nicklas Grossmann (SPELLED WITH TWO N’S PEOPLE) draw in. If anybody is wondering what the point of a youth movement is when they play plugs that haven’t any business in the league anymore when they have to evaluate young defensemen and figure out where they fit, we’re equally stumped.
