Mikael Backlund is set to make his 2016-17 debut for the Flames on Sunday night against the Winnipeg Jets.

Backlund had a career best season last year for the Flames. He played in all 82 games and registered 47 points, 21 of which were goals. Backlund also skated in 2 of Team Sweden’s games at the WCOH and registered 0 points before leaving the tournament with a concussion.

Michael Frolik will also make his preseason debut as well. Frolik is fresh off his time at the WCOH with the Czech Republic and Chad Johnson get the start in net for the Flames.
Calgary will take on the Winnipeg Jets Sunday night at 7PM MT at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Flames are 2-2 and the Jets find themselves at 2-1 so far this preseason.
