The NHL announced its 3 Stars for the Month of December and Flames standout Johnny Gaudreau grabbed the top honors. The Flames sophomore was on a torrid pace for most of the month. He finished December with 12 goals and 18 points in 13 games. The 12 goals led all of the NHL and his 18 points were second in the league for the month. Gaudreau collected 4 multi goal games during that stretch, including 2 hat tricks and 3 game winners. This recognition comes on the heels of Gaudreau winning the NHL’s First of the Week before the year ended.

The other 2 Stars of the Month were Capitals goalie Braden Holtby and Blackhawks star Patrick Kane.

Johnny Gaudreau’s next chance to add to his point totals comes Tuesday night as the Flames take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Scotiabank Saddledome at 9PM ET. Calgary snapped a 2 game skid against the Avalanche with a 4-0 win on Saturday night.
