The NHL has suspended Calgary Flames defenceman Dennis Wideman indefinitely according to Sportscentre's Twitter account:

Wideman took a wicked hit in the corner during last night's 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators and on his way off the ice he cross checked linesman Don Henderson on his way to the bench. Wideman claims the hit was unintentional and that he noticed Henderson at the last second. No penalty was given, but the NHL is reviewing the hit to decide Wideman's fate.
The timing of the suspension makes sense as the Flames and the NHL have reached the All Star Break. This will give the league plenty of time to analyze the clip of the hit and interview Wideman and Henderson. Our own Traci Kay took a look at the hit in this article published today.
