Gamethread: Calgary Flames @ Dallas Stars

Calgary Flames Johnny Gaudreau, Joe Colborne, and Michael Frolik set to take a stand against Tyler Seguin and Jason Spezza of the Dallas Stars.

The Calgary Flames have a record of 21-22-3 and the Dallas Stars have a record of 30-14-5. These teams are a world apart in the standings. But with Tyler Seguin earning only 2 goals and 1 assist in his last 10 games, the Flames will be looking to capitalize on Seguin’s slump in hopes of taking a third win in this series against the Stars. On the other hand, Jason Spezza has had a good run lately with 3 goals and 7 assists in his last 10 games and the Flames will have to step up in the defensive zone in hopes of keeping Spezza from adding to his points.

It looks as though Karri Ramo is back in net tonight as Mark Giordano, T.J. Brodie, Kris Russell, Dougie Hamilton, Deryk Engelland, and Dennis Wideman will be blue line defense. Up front, David Jones will be on the first line with Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau while the powerful Sam Bennett, Mikael Backlund, Michael Frolik line will be the second line of offense. I’m hoping to see more of Joe Colborne and Jiri Hudler capitalizing on their chances and I’m hoping Lance Bouma will step up in place of the injured Michael Ferland.

You can find all the info on projected lineups on the Flames website and in the M&G game preview.
