The San Jose Sharks are in town tonight as they battle against the hometown Flames in another western conference tilt. The Sharks and Flames are tied at 40 points each in the Pacific Division.

In a surprise move by Bob Hartley, Michael Ferland has been bumped up to the first line alongside Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau. Brandon Bollig, Matt Stajan, Joe Colborne will work together as the final line of offense in a game that’s worth two very important points for both teams. Karri Ramo, in spite of taking a puck in the neck during practice on Sunday, will be starting in net. As Hartley explained, “he wants to be in there.”

As well, the latest news on Michael Frolik is that “Michael Frolik (upper body) practiced for the second straight day after being cleared for contact since his injury occurred in a Dec. 15 game, but will not play,” according to flames.nhl.com.

One last very important note during tonight's game, it is Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Night at the Saddledome and the Flames will welcome some local Reservists during the pregame while some of the proceeds from the 50/50 draw will be donated to the Militaries Family Fund. More information can be found on their website.

Don't forget to wear your number 28 tonight in recognition of the one-day contract signed by Robyn Regeher who has officially retired from the NHL as part of the Flames organization. Congrats on an amazing career, Robyn! (We will have more on the Regeher retirement on M&G tomorrow).

Go Flames Go!
