Brandon Bollig has more playoff goals than…
We all were wrong when the Flames traded for Brandon Bollig last summer. Now he has two goals in the playoffs.
He might be a fourth line enforcer type who has polarized the fanbase and this very site, but the elite scoring of Brandon Bollig has been crucial to the team’s success. His unyielding and incomparable expertise in the post-season lends itself to making the Calgary Flames a better team. The former child actor and future Conn Smythe winner added to his playoff stats making us all wonder how we didn’t know he could do this.
To put it bluntly: Brandon Bollig is one of the hottest NHL scorers right now. To prove it, I've compiled a very telling list of players with fewer goals than Brandon Bollig:
- Steven Stamkos – one goal
- Rick Nash – one goal
- Henrik Sedin – one goal
- Erik Karlsson – one goal
- Ondrej Palat – one goal
- Chris Kunitz – one goal
- Thomas Vanek – zero goals
- Marian Hossa – zero goals
- Ryan Callahan – zero goals
- Henrik Zetterberg – zero goals
- Ryan Suter – zero goals
- Mike Green – zero goals
- Martin St. Louis – zero goals
- Evgeni Malkin – zero goals
Now, we know some of these players were eliminated in the first round but its also known that elite scoring forward Brandon Bollig had one goal in the first round. More than several folks in this list had.
Maybe Brandon Bollig is better than Malkin and Stamkos? Maybe we should trade him when the value is high so another team can take advantage of the Wayne Gretzky level offence. Better yet, we should start a Kickstarter campaign to invent cloning so we can clone Bollig and make an entire team of Bolligs.
It would be the most fiendishly deadly NHL team ever assembled. He shall henceforth be known as "Elite Scoring Forward Brandon Bollig" from now on. Here's the full list of individuals who have scored fewer goals while playing in this year's playoffs.
