Breaking The Habit - Flames @ Ducks Game 5 Preview

Is this the Flames' last hurrah for the 14/15 season, or can they finally snap the nine-year losing streak in Anaheim?

Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

Calgary Flames @ Anaheim Ducks - Round 2 Game 5 - 8PM MT (10E, 7P)

Sportsnet, NBCSN

The Flames haven't won in Anaheim since 2006. That is a hell of a streak, and it's a habit they're going to have to break twice now to advance.

If we're being honest, the Flames got out-Flamed in game 4, with the Ducks coming from behind and showing the persistence necessary to win. It looks like it might be a bridge too far, but discount nothing yet. Where there is a will, there's a way, and if anyone can find a way from 3-1 down, it's the Flames.

I'm not saying "the Flames are still going to win this and everything will be amazing!" All I'm saying is, you wouldn't be surprised, would you?

Every game is must-win now. Starting with game 5 tonight. If ever there was a time to break a losing streak that has lasted nine years, it is now.

Potential Starting Lineups (Subject To Change)

After bringing Micheal Ferland and Lance Bouma for game 4, Bob Hartley seems to have elected to use the same lineup for game 5. This is, of course, subject to change - especially as the Flames had an optional morning skate - but who knows? At least, we hope so, because as it turns out, separating Backlund and Bennett isn't the best idea.

Meanwhile, the Ducks, seemingly pretty happy with how game 4 went, aren't making any lineup changes.
