Hiller pulled in second period. Three goals on 14 shots tonight.

Not the strongest start to this game for the former Ducks netminder.

The lethal Anaheim Ducks offence continued to make work of the Flames in the Honda Center as Jonas Hiller was pulled in the second period. The Flames goalie, much in a similar fashion to Game 6 against Vancouver, struggled and was ultimately relieved by Karri Ramo.

Hiller finished the night with 11 saves on 14 shots, surrendering goals to Matt Beleskey, Patrick Maroon, and Corey Perry. He couldn’t be faulted on every goal against, but the Flames definitely needed more from him. That, and the fact that the Flames need a jump of any kind, is more than enough motivation for a goaltending change. Putting in Ramo did work once before, after all, even if his replacing Hiller wasn’t the reason the Flames suddenly scored seven. (Though that was nice, and would definitely help.)
