Defenseman Ryan Culkin was injured early in the second period of Friday night's game - a 4-2 loss to the Utica Comets. Culkin quickly dropped his gloves and stick, and skated directly to the players entrance.
Culkin was taken to the Glens Falls Hospital Emergency Room. Unofficially, the player apparently underwent surgery on his arm, which was cut by a skate, and will be out six weeks. This has not been substantiated by team officials as of yet.
Culkin had been playing incredibly well over the past month or so, logging top four minutes over this stretch including power play and penally kill time. Updates as they become available.
Update - Ryan Culkin will have surgery on Tuesday to repair damaged tendons in his left wrist. He will be out for an extended period of time. Brett Kulak has been recalled from the ECHL, but will not likely not arrive in time for tonights game.
