Team Canada takes on Team Sweden is a meaningless game today as they are slotted to play against the winner of the Czech Republic/Finland game. Adam Ollas-Mattsson notched his first point in Team Sweden’s game yesterday against Denmark while Brandon Hickey of Team Canada is still looking to earn his first point. Maybe today will be the day in this Flames prospects vs. Flames prospects game.

Brad Marchand will not play in the Winter Classic this year due to a 3-game suspension. A part of me died a little when I saw the hit on Borowiecki, knowing that there would be a good chance that Marchand would miss the Winter Classic. Marchand may not be the most liked player in the NHL, but, since watching his style of play in 2011, I’ve become a fan of the “little ball of hate.” So, no Marchand/Subban match-up during the outdoor festivities this year – I’ll admit, I’m quite disappointed.
