The Flames' seven game streak ended and they've started anew, with a two game losing streak. The Red Wings came out on top of the Flames 4-2 tonight thanks to a messy second period for Calgary.
On the plus side, the Flames scored two 5-on-4 goals. Dennis Wideman scored on the powerplay in the second, and Dougie Hamilton scored in a makeshift 5-on-4 with coincidental penalties and Karri Ramo pulled. Ramo was able to help his team out, saving 31 of 34 shots for a .912 SV%.
Josh Jooris and Markus Granlund did their best on the PK, with the latter getting a few shorthanded breakaways but no goals.
Two players ended up with fewer than 10 minutes: Ladislav Smid, and.. Sam Bennett. Was that the right call by Bob Hartley? What about Joe Colborne as the extra attacker with the empty net?
Same deal as always: thumbs up the players you liked, thumbs down the players you didn't. Don't forget to let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
