Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

On a day with little hockey related news, Hockey Canada announced their camp roster for the 2016 World Juniors Championships. Here's what your Hockey Canada Team looks like as of now:

Mackenzie Blackwood (NJ Devils)

Mason McDonald (Calgary Flames)

Thomas Chabot (Ottawa Senators)

Jakob Chychurn (2016 Draft Eligible)

Travis Dermott (Toronto Maple Leafs)

Vince Dunn (St. Louis Blues)

Haydn Fleury (Carolina Hurricanes)

Joe Hicketts (Detroit Red Wings)

Brandon Hickey (Calgary Flames)

Noah Juulsen (Montreal Canadiens)

Roland McKeown (Carolina Hurricanes)

Travis Sanheim (Philadelphia Flyers)

Jake Walman (St. Louis Blues)

Mathew Barzal (New York Islanders)

Anthony Beauvillier (New York Islanders)

Rourke Chartier (San Jose Sharks)

Lawson Crouse (Florida Panthers)

Michael Dal Colle (New York Islanders)

Pierre-Luc DuBois (2016 NHL Draft Eligible)

Julien Gauthier (2016 NHL Draft Eligible)

Jayce Hawryluk (Florida Panthers)

Travis Konecny (Philadelphia Flyers)

Mitch Marner (Toronto Maple Leafs)

Brayden Point (Arizona Coyotes)

Nick Merkley (Tampa Bay Lightning)

John Quenneville (NJ Devils)

Mitchell Stephens (Tampa Bay Lightning)

Dylan Strome (Arizona Coyotes)

Spencer Watson (LA Kings)

Of interest to Calgary Flames fans are the inclusion of Brandon Hickey and Mason McDonald. Brandon Hickey is a 6'2/190 lb sophomore at Boston University, playing in the most competitive conference in US College Hockey. In 14 games Hickey has 6 pts (4 goals, 2 assists), is a +4 and has 23 blocked shots (he lead the team as a Freshman). Mason McDonald is a 6'4/200 lb goalie playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Charlottetown Islanders. The big lefty has played in 17 games this season with a record of 7-8-2 and a GAA of 3.45.

Calgary has had some real good showings in the past from their prospects in Juniors and Flames management no doubt would like to see the same type of showings from McDonald and Hickey.
