Whoa! That was short-lived! It was just announced that Ladislav Smid was recalled by the Flames today after a one-game conditioning stint with the Stockton Heat.

For as short of a demotion that it was, I have to admit that I'm happy that Laddy is back. Considering the issues that the Flames have had on the blue line as of late, Smid is a big body who fights for his defensive position in front of the Calgary net.
Ok, back to the game...
There were a few changes projected for tonight's line-up which include the likes of Markus Granlund to the fourth line and the absence of Brandon Bollig. And, after a two-game absence, Jiri Hudler is placed back on the first line with Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau. One last major change has been the demotion of Joni Ortio to Stockton while Jonas Hiller was activated from the injured list and draws in as back-up to Karri Ramo who will start.
With a record of 11-9-1 for the Arizona Coyotes and 8-13-1 for the Flames, the scales seem tipped in the Coyotes favor, but the Flames have a surprising way of coming back with a vengeance at the most crucial times. Hopefully we are in for a surprise win tonight.
Go Flames Go!
