The game against Ottawa was much better. So so much better. But still, it wasn't quite enough. Will it ever be enough?

Start game well. Lose focus later on. The comeback was a nice new addition, I liked that bit. They should never have got in that position though.

Back home tonight, as the Flames host the mighty Canadiens de Montreal. I'd have said the all-conquering Canadiens, but the wheels have slightly fallen off this week, taking a big loss in Vancouver of all places, and following that up with a narrow defeat last night in Edmonton. Can they go 0-3 on their western adventure?

Now would be an ideal time to, y'know, pick up a win Calgary.

Game recapStats recap

Good start? Check. Fall away late on? Check. Something of a comeback? Welcome back to last year. Lose in the end? Check. Come on Calgary, you are better than this.

Don't I know you?

WHY IS PAUL BYRON A GODDAMN HAB I AM STILL NOT OVER THIS FACT.

Projected lines

  • Jonas Hiller went down injured in Ottawa, taking a big hit from Bobby Ryan (who in fairness was very much pushed). Karri Ramo has been called up, and still has a bit of time on the waiver exemption should Hiller become fit again soon.
  • Mighty morphing Joni Ortio is expected to start tonight though, so Ramo will be on benchwarming duty.
  • Brandon Bollig looks to be sitting? That’s new and different.
  • T.J. Brodie was fantastic against the Sens, showing no obvious effects of being injured.

  • The Habs are missing Zack Kassian, but they haven’t really had him yet. Paul Byron played his first game of the year last night so may stay in the side. Michel Thierren has yet to play his starter for two nights in a row, so expect Mike Condon between the pipes tonight.
