Micheal Ferland left last night's 3-2 OT win against the Detroit Red Wings with an unspecified lower body injury. While we hope it's nothing too serious, it's clearly serious enough for Ferland to be missing some time.
With a three-game road trip coming up, the roster spot needs filling. Per our man in Stockton, that honour falls to Derek Grant.
#Flames have recalled centre Derek Grant from #StocktonHeat.

The 25-year-old centre/left winger joined the Flames organisation after spending four years with the Ottawa Senators, mostly with their AHL affiliate in Binghamton. In three games this season with the Stockton Heat, he has three goals.
Grant had three goals in three games for @AHLHeat. Has not played in @NHL since 12/1/13 when he was with Ottawa.

In all likelihood, Grant will be coming up as cover, with Brandon Bollig drawing back into the side. It'll be interesting to see if he can force his way into the side, though.
