Ramo clears— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) October 22, 2015
Another day, another tweet in the life of Karri Ramo.
Nobody seemed to want to take a chance on the $3.8m per year Finn, even Buffalo, with their lack of options in goal.
Ramo's reassignment to Stockton will be confirmed later today, where he will compete for a starting role with Jon Gillies. The American posted his second shutout of the season last night in a 1-0 road win for the Heat at the Texas Stars, so he'll be in no mood to just hand over the starter's jersey to Ramo.
So what now? Well, there's every chance he could be recalled should Jonas Hiller and Joni Ortio not provide the goaltending needed by the team, although at this point it seems very clear that he's the third choice.
He could also be traded for a low pick - if no-one was willing to take him for free, they're not likely to give up the earth to get him now.
