Flames at Panthers GameThread

Five games to go. Just five games left.

The first official season of the rebuild is finally almost over. With just five games to go, the Flames make their one and only visit to Sunrise, Florida for the year.

Our old friend Roberto Luongo, who we sadly are not getting to see nearly as much anymore, gets the start, while old probably-soon-to-be-gone friend Joey MacDonald is in net for the Flames.

It’s a thrilling battle of the bottom feeders! The Flames are nine points up on the Panthers, so a win tonight will mean the Flames can’t place any lower than 27th in the league. Barring a lottery win, the Flames likely won’t be drafting higher than fourth overall.

So… this game is pretty much totally meaningless. Oh, and the Flames have basically nobody down the middle, something made even worse by the fact that Mikael Backlund is a game time decision after sustaining a hand injury last night. So it’ll be fun! Go team!!
