Adirondack swept the Lake Erie Monsters this weekend, completing a 5-0 week and a half stretch away from home. The Flames are 7-1 in their last 8 games, are second in the North Division standings and have moved up to sixth place in the Western Conference.

  • In Friday night’s 4-2 win, Ben Hanowski had a hat trick and has 6 goals in the season.
  • Bill Arnold is making the most of his increased opportunities of late, with a goal in each game this weekend and 4 goals in the last three games. Arnold tied Saturday’s game at 2 midway through the third – sending the game overtime. The Flames eventually won in a shootout.
  • Emile Poirier had an assist in each game this weekend, and the shootout winner in Saturday’s victory.
  • The goaltending was strong in both games this weekend. Joni Ortio had 27 saves in Friday’s win and Brad Thiessen made 33 saves on Saturday afternoon.
  • The Flames successfully killed all 8 short handed situations this weekend.

The Flames return home Tuesday night to play the Chicago Wolves.
