Tonight, the Flames will play host to the San Jose Sharks. The Flames have won their last three matches in a row, while the Sharks have lost their last two on the heels of a six-game winning streak. It's the fourth of five matches this season between the two clubs, San Jose won the first three.
The Sharks current losing streak is notable in that they've endured two consecutive shutouts for the first time since November 2nd and 4th, 2010, against the St. Louis Blues, 2-0 and the Minnesota Wild, 1-0. Of course, Calgary is no stranger to scoring woes, but they haven't looked half bad for the past nine games, scoring a total of 24 goals over the span, including 13 in their past three.
The Flames will send out Karri Ramo for the start after a strong third period and overtime in his last appearance, when he earned a victory after replacing Reto Berra in a 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. The Sharks will put up Antti Niemi to oppose Calgary's shooters.
