In what was a relatively quiet deadline day for the Flames, the only deal they made was shipping winger Blake Comeau to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 5th round pick. The Jackets were busy today, trading for Marian Gaborik and sending Steve Mason to the Philadelphia Flyers. They’re currently one point behind the Blues for the final playoff spot in the Western conference.

Considering the Flames picked Comeau up off of waivers from the New York Islanders, it’s good that the team was able to get something for him, even if it is a late round draft pick. Comeau has four goals and seven points in 33 games this season. His career high was 24 goals and 46 points in 2010-11 for the Islanders.

The Flames have also called up forward Roman Horak ahead of tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers.
