Calgary Flames
Blue Jackets at Flames Game Thread
The Flames usher in the post-Iggy era tonight at the 'Dome against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
After losing to the Edmonton Oilers last night, the Jackets are in the midst of a four-team tie for 10th place in the Western Conference with 33 points.
After a five-game winning streak propelled them into playoff contention, the Jackets have lost three straight on their current road trip. The Flames are riding a two-game winning streak and an eight-game home winning streak, have the privilege of playing a team on the second night of back-to-back games, and it appears erstwhile starter Steve Mason will be in net tonight.
As for the Flames, Miikka Kiprusoff will be back in the crease tonight after getting the night off against the Colorado Avalanche.
The Flames' lines have obviously been re-jigged following Wednesday night's trade, so I suppose it will be interesting to see how they respond offensively and who gets preferential treatment in terms of circumstances now. Obviously Iginla's absence gives Harley less options both at even strength and on the powerplay, not to mention his trademark shot will be missed dearly. Sigh.
Anyway, here are the projected lines and pairings for tonight:
Flames:

Hudler-Backlund-Cervenka
