Chris Butler Joins Team USA

Chris Butler has been invited to play in the World Championships for his native country's team- he'll be donning the red, white, and blue.

The Regehr - Butler trade remains a sore spot for some Flames fans. I've made my endorsement of it clear for awhile.

Butler improved steadily all season long and is on the rise. D-men take years to develop and at the age of 25 we have yet to see the peak of Butler's game. Regehr, well he is only going to continue to decline.

I can assure you if someone told Darcy Regier, Chris Butler would be on Team U.S.A. at the end of the season he would not have done the Regehr trade.

Butler will join Cam Fowler, Jack Johnson and Alex Goligoski. I will be interested to see if he cracks the top 4 D. Butler's jump in performance was noticed in hockey circles outside of Calgary.
