The Heat kick off a string of three consecutive games to close out their five-game road trip tonight against the Texas Stars, and look to get back on their feet after getting thrashed by the Toronto Marlies 5-0 last Sunday.
The Stars are currently 12th in the AHL's Western Conference, with a sub-.500 record and ten less points than the Heat, who rank second overall in the league behind the Charlotte Checkers. But the Heat have been off for five days since their big loss, so shaking off the rust against what appears to be an inferior team might be easier said than done.
Cody Eakin is the Stars' leading scorer with six goals and 11 points in 14 games, and some other recognizable names on their roster might include Scott Glennie, who was picked eighth overall by the Dallas Stars in 2009, Jamie Oleksiak (Dallas' first round pick in 2011), and Jordie Benn, Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn's older brother.
The game has just gotten under way and you can listen to it live on the Team 1410 website.
