In today's "wuttttttt" news, Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Cammelleri has been acquired by Flames General Manager Jay Feaster for an as-yet unspecified return.
Needless to say, this is far more interesting than the ongoing game with the Anaheim Ducks.
Mike Cammelleri left Calgary as a UFA in favor of Olli Jokinen after posting a career high of 82 points in 2008-09. He had been acquired for a 2nd round draft pick from the LA Kings by then GM Darryl Sutter.
The trade is particularly note-worthy given the circumstances. After calling the Canadiens organization "losers", or at least being reported as saying as much, Cammalleri was pulled from a Montreal game in the third period and sent to the team hotel. He was then told he had been traded. Last time a Montreal player was pulled for a trade, it was Patrick Roy pulling himself. Montreal didn't fare so well with that trade, as most hockey fans will recall.
UPDATE: Rene Bourque is one player heading to Montreal.
