Free Agent Madness Live Thread

It’s T-minus 2 hours with $7.5M in cap space remaining for the Calgary Flames. I’ve got a six pack of Anchor Summer Ale, my Calgary Flames jersey, and a tweetdeck column open with only Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger.

Here's the major storylines today:

• Brad Richards- Who’s going to overpay and attempt to subvert the cap for this years “top free agent”? So far the list is “every team with more than $2M in cap space”
• Every defenseman everywhere- Given the extremely thin UFA crop on D, we’re going to see some absolutely nutty deals for guys like Hejda and the Wiz.
• #jagrwatch This is probably the dumbest storyline yet. We’re talking about a 38 year old player who has seen very little in the way of real competition in years
