Red Wings are again fighting off elimination.
If they manage to win this one tonight we might be in for a close one. It has been a surprise that the Sharks jumped out to such a large series lead so fast.
The player who will have to play his best is Jimmy Howard. He really is the weak cylinder on the Motown machine, if it is firing on all cylinders.
Pavel Datsyuk, Nicklas Lidstrom, Henrik Zetterberg are all more than capable of taking on the Sharks but there is only one player who will be on the ice for the full 60 minutes and that is Howard.
The Sharks are looking like that team with the blessing of the hockey gods because they have been finding ways to win. Joe Thornton has really shook off the bad rap of the ghosts of playoffs past and is winning faceoffs, grinding in the corners, scoring game winning goals and simply bringing a whole new level to his game.
Would not break my heart to see the Red Wings win this one, so we can watch these two teams go at each other again.
