Despite earlier reports that first-line forward Alex Tanguay would be out indefinitely with a concussion, team officials upgraded his diagnosis to a neck strain following the morning skate. Tanguay has missed time with a similar injury before when he suffered a pinched nerve in his neck back in 2006.

The Flames' second-leading scorer  did not leave the game during Monday's 3-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks, but is still listed as "out indefinitely," but the team and its fans are no doubt relieved that the diagnosis is probably not as serious as originally thought. Nonetheless, hopefully the Tanguay gets well soon and returns the lineup, both for his sake and the team's.
