A Case of the Mondays: Prospect Camp Edition

Published

on

Thirty-two Flames prospects and two invitees (Former Hitmen D Giffen Nyren and the Oil Kings’ G Cam Lanigan) will hit Saddledome ice this afternoon for the organization’s annual week-long development camp in hopes of leaving a lasting impression on Flames management and coaching staff. Camp is limited to players who are on their first entry level contract with the club–and the roster certainly includes some intriguing names this year. Flames fans will get their first look at 2010 draftees Bill Arnold, Michael Ferland, Patrick Holland, Max Rienhart, and Joey Leach as well as the usual must-sees in Tim Erixon, John Negrin, John Armstrong, Greg Nemisz and Mikael Backlund. This year, Mitch Wahl, Bryan Cameron, Ryan Howse, T.J. Brodie, and goalie Joni Ortio likely make that list as well, at least for me. Here’s the full roster for this week’s festivities, as well as the schedule. I plan on hitting the ‘Dome early on my days off this week–tomorrow, Thursday, and maybe Saturday–so let me know if you’re going to be around and maybe we can take in some drills together.
