Playoff Open Thread: Blood in the Water

Having missed most of last night’s playoff action, I was delighted to hear that my adopted team had laid a smackdown on Roberto Luongo and his cronies, and even more so when I learnt that it was largely at the hands of Dustin Byfuglien while playing on a line with Jonathan Toews, who got me three points in my playoff pool. Tonight, the Sharks have a chance to finish off the Red Wings (TSN) in what many people are saying could be Nik Lidstrom’s last game should Detroit be eliminated. Personally, I know quite a few people who will be eating their words should the Sharks advance. In Montreal, the Pens look to take a 3-1 series lead on after a convincing shut-out victory over the Habs on Tuesday night (CBC). It looks as if Pittsburgh will be welcoming Jordan Staal back into their lineup while defenceman Jaroslav Spacek could return tonight for Montreal. After losing game three at home to Hamilton Bulldogs, the Heat look to even up the series tonight, starting at 8PM MT/7PT [Preview].

Enjoy tonight's games everyone.
