Matchsticks and Microphones
Matchsticks and Microphones: Episode 17 (31/12/2011)
This episode is quite little on the hockey talk-because, let's be honest here, talking about this team is difficult-and as you can tell, it was recorded a couple of weeks ago.
Instead, Arik and I go into our favourite albums and movies from the year in a sort of retrospective.
Link after the jump. It's a hefty one, so settle in when you listen...or whatever.

Happy New Year, Everyone.
Matchsticks and Microphones: Episode 16 (09/11/2011)
We return with almost 45 minutes of lulz, roffles and even some serious talk. Mostly, we just bitch and complain and (in my case) grow our ambivalence. It's not just hockey, either-we venture into a couple of serious topics outside of the world of puck.
This episode features myself and Arik from this hurr site, mike_H from Hit The Post and Puck Daddy's Ryan Lambert.

Matchsticks and Microphones: Episode 15 (27/09/2011)
It's backkkkkk!
Quite right. The podcast makes its triumphant return to the airwaves with mike_H and KingJafi from Hit The Post (@hitthepost), Kent Wilson from Flames Nation (@Kent_Wilson), our managing editor Hayley (@MG_Hayley) and of course some sexy guy hosting the show (that would be me, @azevedoj).
This week we do a quick review of the off-season with some more ranting and swearing, talk a little about prospects and move into our predictions for the upcoming season. Maybe don't listen to this one unless you're alone. I might get a little...animated at a couple points. You've been warned.
Of course, some recognition is needed for our excellent intro and outro music-"Another Room" by Blair Miskie and the Goods. Here's their website and here's a link to the iTunes mp3 version of the song- it's good stuff.

Matchsticks and Microphones: Post-Draft Nonsense Special
What's this? A surprise offseason edition of Matchsticks and Microphones? Incredible!
Not only is it as amazing as usual- it's even more amazing. The All-Star cast includes Justin Azevedo (who always does an excellent job of putting this together) of Hockey and Booze, Mike H. of Hit the Post, Hayley and myself of, you know, here, and special guest star Pat Steinberg of the Fan 960 and Flamesnation.ca, who's terrified of swear words.
In this special episode we "discuss" (by which I mean listen to Justin yell about) the Regehr trade, talk draft signings, and go into a little bit on development versus drafting and which is the problem with Calgary Flames draft picks.
Matchsticks and Microphones: Episode 13 (4/21/2011)
Good morning gentlefolk! I bring you good tidings in the form of a new episode of Matchsticks and Microphones. Yes, I speak truly, and this is no ordinary episode- it is our largest yet: M&G Editor Emeritus Kent Wilson (if you haven't noticed I find it thoroughly entertaining to call him that) and Robert Cleave of Flamesnation, Duncan and Mike of Hit the Post, Certified Executive of the Office of Management Hayley from here, and the host, of course, is Justin of Hockey and Booze.
The episode is a Very Special season review episode, so I thoroughly recommend you listen to it before the next season. In September.
As always, the AMAZING intro and outro music is "Another Room" by Blair Miskie and the Goods, here's their website and here's a link to the iTunes mp3 version of the song- it's good stuff. And finally, the podcast mp3 is after the jump. Enjoy!
Matchsticks and Microphones: Episode I Don't Know Because I'm Posting This From My Phone
Hey folks, I'm currently en route to London by way of Montreal, so this will be brief (and possibly full of strange typos).
This weeks Matchsticks and Microphones is Justin and Editor Emeritus Kent (making his M&M debut!) discussing the playoffs and such.
Intro music is by Blair Miskie as usual, and if someone with editing abilities could copy/paste the usual sticktap I give him with the links and all that, that'd be terrific. Podcast is after the jump!
Matchsticks and Microphones Episode 11 (4/6/2011)
Come one! Come all! Gather round readers, for tonight we have a special treat. Yes- the 11th episode of Matchsticks and Microphones is released, and it's Iggy-licious.
The lineup is Justin (of course), our rad managing editor Hayley, Ryan Lambert of Flamesnation.ca, and Mike H. from hitthepost.ca, who got a lot of press during the last game against Colorado.
The subjects are the week that was, the week that will be, and Jarome Iginla's greatest moments. It gets a little teary.
So when the game tonight is on intermission, or maybe turns too awful to watch, give the podcast a play, because it's a good one.

Matchsticks and Microphones Episode 10 (4/1/2011)
Yes, it's THAT time of the week again. The time where sunshines and rainbows burst forth from your morning coffee; the time of the week when the sun and the clouds have smiley faces and silly hats. No, not because it's Friday. Because the latest episode of Matchsticks and Microphones is ready for your listening pleasure!
The lineup is pretty small this time with just Justin, Hayley, and myself. The main topic is prospects, and beyond that, I'll leave you to discover what mysteries lie within.
Justin's note: we did actually talk about Brodie in the middle segment, but I had to cut it due to rather extreme technical difficulties. (SPOILER: I was a freaking idiot during recording.) I'll give you the gist of it: we all love him and we want him in a Flames uniform next year.
EDIT: I'm a jerk. I totally forgot to give our theme music source his weekly props.
