A Case of the Mondays: Undefeated

Flames Trim Roster, Hagman Sits Out 3rd Straight Practice

14 players were sent packing today by the Flames, as AHLers Carter Bancks, Chris Breen, Bryan Cameron, Mitch Wahl, Lance Bouma, Hugo Capentier, J.P. Lamoureux, Kris Chucko, J.D. Watt, Ryley Grantham, Logan MacMillan, Josh Meyers, and Gaelan Patterson were all assigned to Abbotsford. Hitmen alum Giffen Nyren was sent to the Heat without a contract, but will continue his tryout in Abbotsford. 38 players now remain at Flames training camp; 4 goalies, 21 forwards, and 13 defencemen. Forward Niklas Hagman missed his third straight practice this morning with an undisclosed ailment after missing time with the flu at the start of camp. Hagman last played on a line with Rene Bourque and Matt Stajan in Vancouver on Tuesday, tallying one goal in the 3-1 split-squad triumph, and his absence, following the news of Stajan's separated shoulder, is worrisome for the team's scoring depth. Stay tuned for updates.

News and Notes From Penticton

Well, it was an interesting game despite the loss.  Mostly fun to watch, despite a few cringe-worthy moments.  The 5-3 final was more lopsided than the actual game was, thanks to an Oilers empty...
