The Flames made a pair of depth signings today by bringing in F Alan Quine from the New York Islanders and Tyler Graovac from the Washington Capitals in free agency.

Quine is 25 years old and has spent his entire career with the Islanders organization after being drafted in the 6th round of the 2013 draft.

Most recently Quine had 3 assists in 21 games with the Islanders while scoring 1 goal in 4 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL). Quine missed a couple months with a lower body injury. In 2016-17 Quine had 5 goals and 13 assists in 61 games for the Isles which was his only full season. He’s also had some AHL success.

Graovac spent most of the year with the Hershey Bears which are the AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals. With Hershey, Graovac put up 29 points in 53 games. Graovac also played 5 games with the Caps, being held pointless.

Graovac was drafted by Minnesota in the 7th round in 2011 and had his best NHL season in 2016-17 when he had 7 goals and 2 assists in 52 games.

Always good to have some depth, where it’s in Calgary or in Stockton.
